Shoot the Moon is a popular card game, also known as “Hearts.” It is typically played with four players and a standard deck of 52 cards. The goal of the game is to avoid taking penalty cards, particularly the Queen of Spades and any Hearts, while also trying to by taking all 13 Hearts and the Queen of Spades in a single round, which earns the player a large number of penalty points.
Each round of the game begins with the players passing cards to each other, then the player holding the 2 of Clubs plays that card to start the trick. Players must follow suit if possible, and the player with the highest card of the lead suit wins the trick and leads the next one.
